Plasterboard Notice

Due to continued contamination of skips with plasterboard that has not being separated and bagged and the environmental impact which is affecting our operations. There will be an increase to this sorting fee from £50 to £100 going forward, updated notice below.

In the last few years, waste operators have come under increasing pressure from the Environment Agency to ensure that plasterboard is segregated, recycled, and most importantly not mixed into other waste streams. inevitably some plasterboard gets mixed into the other wastes streams which increases the risk of harm to our environment.
To ensure we meet these Environment Agency legal requirements, we need your assistance. We don’t intend to ban the disposal of plasterboard or charge you extra for it like some other skip hire providers, but we do need your help!

Option 1
If you anticipate the disposal of large volumes of plasterboard or plaster powder – Please order a separate plasterboard only skip (Mini, Midi or Maxi Sizes). These can be provided at competitive rates.

Option 2
If you are only likely to dispose of smaller volumes of plasterboard – Please inform us when placing the order. We will then supply you with a free of charge bulk bag to place the plasterboard in. Please place the bulk bag of plasterboard within the skip and ensure its accessible for us to pull it out (it must be within the skip and ensure that the skip is not overfilled). By doing this, plasterboard is kept separate, and we can easily pull it out, without contaminating the remaining waste.

If in the event that plasterboard waste is mixed in with the other wastes within the skip and no attempt has been made to segregate it, regrettably we will need to apply a £100+VAT sorting fee to cover the cost of the manpower to segregate the waste.
